🎶 ORIGINAL

I chose this song because I really love jazz, and this track especially stood out to me. The bridge section has a surprising twist that inspired me to explore it further. I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out different grooves and effects while staying true to the core of the original. The harmony and structure felt strong enough to support multiple interpretations, which is why I chose it for this project.

🌀 VARIATION #1 

In this variation, I used a halftime groove to give the track a smoother, more laid-back feel. I felt that a double-time approach wouldn’t suit the vibe, so halftime made more sense musically. Later in the section, I changed the groove again to bring the energy back and transition smoothly into a fade-out. It gave the remix a dynamic structure that contrasts with the original while still honoring it.

  VARIATION #2 — Sound Design + Film Vibe 

For Variation 2, I took the same bridge section and added sound effects. The idea was to make it feel cinematic — like it could fit into a chase scene or a suspenseful moment in a movie. I used spacey, atmospheric sounds to enhance the mood while keeping the halftime groove. This gave the track a whole new emotional tone and brought that section to life in a different context.

🎺 VARIATION #3 — Live Performance (Trumpet Solo)

In my third variation, I brought in a live musician — myself — and recorded a trumpet solo. This was inspired by older jazz recordings where the track would fade out with a live solo at the end. I wanted to recreate that feel and give the song a personal, expressive touch. The trumpet solo adds a sense of closure and makes this variation feel more like a live performance than a studio remix.
